Tamagotchi Site Thieves: Beware!

Posted on March 30, 2014 at 9:15 PM Comments comments (2)

Visitors of TaMametchi, listen up! Believe it or not, TaMametchi is getting its information STOLEN by another website.

Usually, Tamagotchi website creators need references and facts to type up themselves on their website. However, this website went beyond references and is resorting to COPYING AND PASTING information that I have typed myself onto their website. I have my evidence.

Exhibit A: The home page is visually similar to that of TaMametchi's. (Welcome!)

Exhibit B: Their page featuring Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. is just a copy and pasting of the two news entries I posted concerining Tamagotchi L.I.F.E.

Exhibit C: Their pages on Tamagotchi ID, and ID Lovely-Melody Version contain information copied and pasted from TaMametchi Too. (Let's not forget "Tamagotchi Japan")

Exhibit D: Their Tamagotchi Connection pages contain information copied and pasted from TaMametchi's.

Exhibit E: Their "fun" page is a remake of TaMametchi Chat (even the 'chat rules' are copied.) Also, their "TamaLinks" section contains the exact same links and subcategories as the TamaLinks page on TaMametchi.

The website also has a sister site with relatively the exact points I have made clear. Its "fun page" also contains a copy of TaMametchi Chat, and also has info from the TaMametchi homepage copied onto it, such as Tamagotchi Wallpapers and Tamagotchi Downloads.

The people behind this website are nothing but unoriginal thieves. I advise anyone reading this to not support their website, and stick with the original: TaMametchi.

UPDATE: The offending website is now taken down, and TaMametchi is thief-free!

Tamagotchi Friends: The Next Generation of Tamagotchi

Posted on February 15, 2014 at 8:15 PM Comments comments (0)

Hello, all TamaFans! As you might have heard, a brand new generation of Tamagotchi toys are currently being introduced.

Tamagotchi Friends, the name of the new Tamagotchi toy, is an ultimate revamp of previous Tamagotchi toys. This version includes the ability to send messages and gifts to others by "bumping" two Tamagotchi Friends toys together, instead of the old "infrared" connection.

Tamagotchi Friends has also introduced a lot of new, more colorful Tamagotchi characters. Along with good ol' Mametchi, you have newer characters like Kiraritchi and Julietchi. Most characters originated from the Japanese line of Tamagotchi.

Tamagotchi Friends toys have already released in the United Kingdom. The release dates in other countries, including the United States, are currently undecided.

Those with (or without) Tamagotchi Friends toys can visit Dream Town, an online interactive world that has quests and special items for Tamagotchi Friends toys.

More information about Tamagotchi Friends toys will be announced as it becomes available.

Bandai America is Completely Giving Up On Tamagotchi

Posted on June 21, 2013 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (0)

Sad news for Tamagotchi fans. Bandai America is totally giving up on Tamagotchi. They have shut down all features of the Tamagotchi website, and have even removed all main links to the Tamagotchi website on the Bandai America homepage.

Even with this sad news, Tamagotchi is not completely dead. Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. has released a mobile version of the original Tamagotchi toy (v1). Many people have tried the app, but still prefer the actual Tamagotchi to the mobile version.

Bandai America is also coming up with a new toy: the TechPet. A TechPet is a virtual dog that incorporates the use of an Apple mobile device (iPhone, iPod). The device would be placed in a case that would substutite for the head of the TechPet. The TechPet would move and react to whatever the user did on the screen. More information can be found at the official website.

Many Tamagotchi fans were upset, and even outraged, that Bandai would simply throw away Tamagotchi, and bring out something completely different like the TechPet. Some were even upset at the fact that the TechPet would be useless to those who do not own an iPhone or iPod.

Most of the fans are now turning to the ever-successful Japanese franchise of Tamagotchi. Will Bandai America ever bring back the Tamagotchi we know and love?

The Truth About Tamagotchi L.I.F.E.

Posted on June 13, 2012 at 2:20 PM Comments comments (5)

Tamagotchi Fans everywhere were super excited about the news of Bandai America releasing a new line of Tamagotchi products called Tamagotchi L.I.F.E. (Love Is Fun Everywhere).

More information was released at the Licensing International Expo 2012 in Las Vegas. You can see the video by clicking here.

Many Tamagotchi fans were disappointed at the fact that Bandai would release products only at a target audience of women ages 20-29. Most were also upset over the fact that Bandai would not be releasing a new virtual pet, and are even going away from virtual pets altogether.

Tamagotchi Japan is probably the more successful side of Tamagotchi. Tamagotchi fans in America and outside of Japan want Bandai to release toys and merchandise that are being sold in Japan. They also want the official Tamagotchi anime to be released around the world for all to enjoy.

Tamagotchi fans want something that all ages and all genders can enjoy, not girly clothing and furnishings for an older audience only. Bandai isn't doing a good job of that. I just wonder if they even listen to what we want...

Both companies hope to successfully make Tamagotchi products to better fit the everyday lifestyle of Tamagotchi fans around the world.

Attention Tamagotchi Fans!

Tamagotchi Fans Everywhere! As you probably know, Tamagotchi is being discontinued from many stores in a lot of places. The only place that Tamagotchi is doing well is in Japan! Everywhere else, not so good. Take the Tama-Go for example. They're in clearance in lots of stores, so are the Gotchi figures. Some stores are selling the Wave 2 Tama-Gos and Gotchi figures, while most aren't.

Do you feel that Bandai is going to discontinue Tamagotchi? i think so. There hasn't been any new activity on the Tamagotchi site for more than a year. TamaWiki still isn't up, and the blog is dead.

You can do something to support Tamagotchi. Put this image as your profile picture on TamaTalk, Tama-Zone, or any other Tamagotchi forum you go to. You can also put it on your blog or website's homepage. Hopefully, it spreads and Bandai will see that lots of people love Tamagotchi.

You can also view the TamaTalk forum topic here.

Just a Note...

Hello, Tamagotchi-lovers! I hope everyone's having a good summer! 8) Anyways, there hasn't been a lot of activity on Mametchi's blog on the Tamagotchi website. I wonder if he's busy on an experiment he's working on. He's always coming up with wacky creations! Also, I'm waiting for the TamaWiki to come up. I think it's going to be a super-convienient reference to your Tamagotchi-related questions, just like Tamagotchi Wikia! As many Tamagotchi characters as there are on Tamagotchi Planet, it seems like a huge job! I just hope it will be up soon...

The Japanese Tamagotchi TV show has been translated to English! But it only aired for a little while in Australia. Fortunately, Calztchi from YouTube lives in Australia (he's a HUGE Tamagotchi fan by the way, look at his awesome collection!) and he taped some episodes for other Tamagotchi fans to see! I will start uploading them soon. In the meantime, you can go subscribe to him and favorite some of his vids!
